A VERY MERRY UNBIRTHDAY TO ME

This is one that my friend, Sarah says would only happen to me! So I had just turned 14 years old and I was cleaning the garage (we were living on Cape Cod at the time) when I found some fancy folder. I opened it and on one side there was a picture of a fat baby and on the other side it said my name and all my information but the birthday was wrong! I asked my mom.."what's this" she told me it was my birth certificate and my reply was "they can do a typo on your birth certificate????" my mom's reply was "it is your fathers fault, he thought you were born the 22nd of the month like he was and I didn't want to argue with your fathaaaahhh". I looked back and it said I was born at 9:30 PM on July 23, my birthday was July 22 which was the last day of being a Cancer (astrology sign) the 23rd is the first day of the Leo (yes I'm a Leo which explains a lot..lol). So not only was I celebrating the wrong day... I was reading the wrong horoscope!!!

At 14 your birthday is still wicked important. I was shocked and devastated in a way. My birthday was my special day which was huge. we were really poor and I was always hungry and my mom would take me wherever I wanted on my birthday. My day wasn't my day anymore.

After giving it some thought I told my mother that I would forgive her but from now on I get presents, the dinner and the singing ... the cake.. both days forever and ever. So it was and from then on I celebrate both days. (I like it now that I'm older and it means I don't get older until a day later). After a while I was watching Alice in Wonderland when the mice were singing the Unbirthday Song! My sisters were sick of celebrating both days so I helped out, I decided July 22nd is my unbirthday and they call every year to say happy unbirthday, then July 23rd to say happy birthday.

PS

My Dad said it was my Mom's fault.
